The world’s second software provider will buy Phase Forward Company, making its entrance on the medical complex solutions market. The offer’s total value which is higher than the current value of the company with 30% is of 685 million dollars.

The acquisition is part of Oracle’s plan to extend its business in all areas where complex IT services and solutions are required. Therefore, in the last five years, Oracle has bought a total of 62 companies, spending 42 billion dollars and therefore having access to other industries such as telecom or retail.

Phase Forward is a company founded in 1997 which offers integrated solutions and services for clinics and pharmaceutical products manufacturers mostly in SaaS system. From drug testing solutions to patients management applications, the company’s services where used by clients as GlaxoSmithKline and AstraZeneca.

Oracle announced that it wants to end the integration of Phase Forward by the middle of 2010.
