Google has launched the Google Maps services for Romania, available since Friday on map.google.ro announces a Mediafax press release.

The Maps Romania service is available both for local users and for companies.

It will offer detailed online maps throughout the Romanian territory, users having the possibility to search companies, post free ads, contact details and other information about their activity (service offered for companies through Google Maps Local Business Center), to create their own maps with the help of Google map Maker and search specific locations from streets to restaurants or museums.

Also available on any mobile terminal with Internet access (the application can be downloaded for free on mobile), all the information requested can be accessed even on road, offering the possibility to set optimum routes or to find information about the area where you are in the form of pictures, real time feeds or Wikipedia articles.

Founded in 1998 by the Stanford graduates Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Google has recorded an increase in the first trimester of the current year of 37% in comparison with the same period of 2009, in total of 5,06 billion dollars.
